Program Areas

Sam Batzli, WisconsinView Director, introduces Liam Gumley at the AmericaView Fall Technical Meeting in Madison, WI.

AmericaView is organized around the consortium's four broad goals of providing access to free civilian remotely sensed data, supporting the many uses of remotely sensed data through education, professional development, and outreach, and supporting the application of remote sensing technology through research. Within these program areas AmericaView's primary partners, called StateViews, work closely with their partners at the state and national levels on a wide range of projects.

Because each state has unique needs with respect to data access, education, and research, the StateViews are free to develop their own project sets, formalized annually through a peer-reviewed proposal and reporting process. StateViews are encouraged to work together on projects of mutual interest, often supported by AmericaView's education, outreach, technology, and research committees to maximize the leverage of our funding.
