Description: Vegetation indices like the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI), and Tasseled Cap transformations are useful measures of vegetation calculated from remotely sensed data. It is relatively straightforward to calculate these indices using data from the Landsat sensors and ArcMap. In this tutorial, a method for doing so is described.
